Black Rims - To Die For

There’s no doubt about it, black rims on a vehicle really make it stand out and be noticed. Many people are unaware that there are several different shades of black to choose from, including hyper, glossy, and flat. Because of these choices, it can be difficult to choose. To help make choosing black rims for your car or truck easier, we’ve provided a description of the three available shades, and tips about which type of car looks good with each option. Also included is some general pricing information.

Hyper Black – This color isn’t really black, but more like a silver-chrome, which is a different color with the smallest shade of dark that is able to show through. These black rooms have a very classy look to them, which can make just about any vehicle look more expensive that it actually is. These rims make it easy to jazz up those types of gangster car replicas and look really sleek. It’s possible to locate a bare bones set of stock rims in the hyper black shade for about $200. Of course, this is the lowest price you’ll find.

Glossy Black –Black rims in this shade are sleek and shiny and really stand out. This shade looks great on just about any type of vehicle as long as it has a nice paint job. These rims are for a guy or gal that’s wants to have a showy car, but might not be best for those people that would rather blend in with the rest of the world.

This type of black rims could easily be put on one of the small new hybrid vehicles to make it sportier and give it the look of a cute toy car. Glossy black rims look great when they’re paired up with a paint job that’s bright orange or yellow. These rims will do a lot to jazz up a two door sub compact car or sedan. Keep in mind, these babies definitely aren’t cheap. When looking at brand new ones, depending on what size you’re after, prepare yourself to pay about as much as your car payment for small rims and as much as your mortgage for the cars that many of us will never be able to afford.

Flat Black – This particular shade has no hint of any other color. It is a monotone shade. It’s simply black. These black rooms look good on government type jeeps and cars to give them a more authoritative look.

In addition to military or government vehicles, black rims in this flat shade are often used on cars that are intended to be used as family vehicles that have been turned into race cars. You can’t help but look twice when you see an ordinary commuter car that’s been painted a serious shade of purple and paired with a set of flat black rims. It might not be recognized for what it really is unless you take a much closer look. These black rims start at about $200 for a basic set and go all the way up to several thousand dollars.
